Ravenwood Hopkinton Massachusetts

Ravenwood Hopkinton MassachusettsRavenwood is a popular Hopkinton neighborhood located on the East side of town near the Holliston town line. There are 71 homes located in this upper end luxury Hopkinton subdivision. Ravenwood was developed in from the l990's to early 2000's by Ron Nation of 20th Century homes.

Ron is currently building the homes in Connelley Hill Estates which is the only active neighborhood in Hopkinton with homes being built over a million dollars.

The streets in this neighborhood consist of Hidden Brick Road, Tammer Lane, and Pendulum Pass. Many people mistake Ledgestone Drive and Sterling Drive as being part of Ravenwood. These Streets are actually located in an adjacent neighborhood know as Ledgestone.

The value of the homes in Ravenwood as of October 2009 range between the low 600's up to a Million plus for a few select homes. Most of the homes in Ravenwood would have a value between the low $700's to low $800's.

The homes range in size from around 2700 square feet all the way up to around 5000 square feet. The housing on Hidden Brick Road and Tammer Lane are quite comparable although the homes on Tammer Lane are a little bit younger.

Tammer Lane is somewhat unique in that one side of the Street the homes sit below the road and on the other they tower above the Street.

There are some pluses and minuses with this situation. While the homes on the high side of the Street have great views, they also have some VERY steep driveways. Some New England Winters have been known to bring quite a few snow storms. With Driveways like these you need to make sure you have a reliable contractor to plow your driveway.

 

Pendulum Pass Ravenwood HopkintonThe homes located along Pendulum Pass are on a slightly grander scale than the rest of the neighborhood. The homes are a little bit larger and have a few more bells and whistles. The use of brick and stone is a lot more prevalent. The Pendulum Pass homes are all in excess of 4000 square feet.

While most of the neighborhood would typically have homes with four bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and a two car garage, you will find some of the homes on Pendulum with extra baths as well as a 3rd bay in the garage.

The lots in Ravenwood are a minimum of 60,000 square feet with many of them having the luxury of being heavily wooded.

 

 

This is one of the few neighborhoods in town where you will find contemporary style homes. Many of the luxury Hopkinton neighborhoods do not allow "true" contemporaries. You may be thinking to yourself why that would be the case? New England has been partial to your traditional colonial and other like styles. Many of the neighborhoods located in Metrowest actually have covenants that prevent you from building a contemporary home!

So if you are considering relocating to Hopkinton, Ravenwood should be on your list of quality neighborhoods to consider.
