Hopkinton Massachusetts Named to Money Magazine Best Places to Live 2009

Hopkinton Massachusetts Makes Money Magazine Best Places to live 2009Hopkinton Massachusetts has just been named to the Money Magazines prestigious list of the best places to live in the US for 2009! Not only did Hopkinton make the list but they broke the top 20 coming in at #19.

The awards just continue to roll in for Hopkinton, as this latest award is fresh on the heels of Hopkinton High School making Newsweek Magazine top 500 Schools for 2009.

This is the 2nd consecutive year that Hopkinton has made Newsweek's list for bragging rights as one of the best school systems in the country. This year Hopkinton high school came in ranked 420 out of the top 1500 schools! Hopkinton also made Boston Magazines 50 best high schools in 2008.

Getting recognized by Money magazine is nothing to sneeze at as it is one of the most widely read financial publications. As a Realtor who has lived in Hopkinton my entire life and has sold Real Estate in the town for the last twenty three years, this will do nothing but enhance an already strong reputation.

Hopkinton is a destination town for many home buyers because of the terrific commuting location, awesome school system, and some of the best developments in the area.

Hopkinton is located at the "cross roads of New England" with 495 and the Mass Pike at our door step. The MBTA is also located just over the Hopkinton town line in Southboro.

Other considerations that make Hopkinton a great place to live include a town center that is not over commercialized. It is doubtful you will see a McDonalds in Hopkinton anytime soon:) There are also two large lakes known as Lake Maspenock and Lake Whitehall, as well as the popular Hopkinton State park for recreation.

I could go on and on about the many great attributes of the town...these are just a few. Although I would be remiss if I did not mention the fact that the Boston Marathon starts in Hopkinton.

Here is a link to Hopkinton Mass compared to Money Magazines top ten places to live. This link will give you a comparison of median income levels, state income tax rate, auto insurance premiums, sales tax, and job growth statistics for these communities.

Are you a member of Facebook? If so here is a link to the Hopkinton Money Magazine fan page at Facebook.

Here is a complete list of the Money Magazine top 100 places to live. This is the 2nd time in the past year Hopkinton has been ranked as one of the best places to live by a major news publication. Hopkinton made Boston Magazines best places to live 2009 as well.

Congratulations! it must be nice to blow your horn on this one to new clients.  Looks like Oregon got in there with West Linn and Lake Oswego, but my goodness those are both very expensive places to live.

That's very cool, Bill. I would imagine this will be good publicity for folks who are relocating. I noticed that Acton was well up on the list - lived there for 6 months years ago. Never lived in Milton but know folks who do and love it - you are in great company.

Josef, Barb & Leslie - Thanks for your comments on Hopkinton making Money Magazines list. Hopkinton is a great place to live. Real Estate values here in Hopkinton have held up well in relation to some of the other surrounding towns.

Jeff - Acton is a really nice town as well. Acton is about a half hour away from Hopkinton up Rte 495.

Hi Bill,

Hopkinton looks like such a great place, it's pretty clear to see why Money gives you the heads up.

For me, knowing it's home to Boston, as a marathoner myself it's always intrigued me. It's one of those great places I'd love to visit as a spectator...sorry to say not as a qualifer (too darn slow), yet I'd be right there at mile 17+ for everyone else.

Bill you continue to do such so much online marketing for Metrowest MA, why would anyone even consider anyone else?

Congratulations to Hopkinton for getting this honor.  You live in a pretty awesome community, Bill.

Very impressive publicity and ratings for Hopkinton...and I did not know that the start line for the Boston marathon begins here...I'm sure a few never make the finish line because they lag behind to buy a home in Hopkinton! Your steady stream of interesting facts and homes for sale, fortifies the excellence.

Great Post.  Packed with great info.  I think I may move to Hopkinton if they will just correct the spelling.  Shouldn't there be a "g" in there.

If I do make the move, can you recommend a good Realtor?
