Canterbury is a small Hopkinton Massachusetts cul-de-sac neighborhood consisting of nine homes nestled on a nice piece of land overlooking part of Lake Maspenock. Canterbury is located off of West Elm Street just past the Circa 1700 Country Village neighborhood.
All of the homes in Canterbury were built between 1996 and 2000 with the exception of one home which was completed in 2002.
These custom homes were built by Dick Pockwinse a local Hopkinton builder. Each home Dick constructed was unique and highly customized.
The attention to detail was excellent. What you will find with all of the exteriors at Canterbury is a fine blending of clapboard, stone, and brick. Multiple roof lines add character and overall appeal to home buyers looking for an executive style home.

These Hopkinton homes range in size from 3200-4000 square feet not including finished basement space. A few of the homes at Canterbury have incredible finished lower levels that rival the above grade living space.
The interiors of these luxury homes are all appointed with magnificent kitchens. Given the fact that Dick Pockwinse was a cabinet maker by trade prior to becoming a builder gave him a leg up on what buyers demand in a custom kitchen.
Some of the other striking features of Dick's homes include the large family rooms and entry foyers which were mostly built with dramatic two story volume spaces. The other smart design feature included in most of the homes was a 1st floor study for those that do some work out of the house.
The finish work is what you would expect as there was no shortage of wainscoting, crown molding, and built-ins.
The homes for the most part are 4 bedrooms with 2.5 to 4 baths and either a two or three car garage. All of the lots at Canterbury have at least an acre and a few of them have closer to 1.5 acres.
The value of the homes as of November 2008 range between the 700's to up over a million.
One of the rare features of this subdivision is the fact that there is public sewer. Almost all of Hopkinton other than the center of town and the lake area has septic systems.
Canterbury has a fantastic commuting location as the 495 exits are only about 1.5 miles down the road off of West Main Street. The 1st exit North on 495 is the Mass Pike. Boston is only about 35 minutes away!
If you have a family one of the considerations when selecting a community is usually the quality of education the town provides. You can be confident knowing the Hopkinton's Schools are highly rated and among the best in the area!

Bill, you know I love your area. I love the landscaping and the trees just stand tall and majestic overlooking the property. Are these large homes? I love the acre lots too. But I like a small house for myself personally.
Bill~ These are beautiful homes. I am equally impressed with your ability to sell the community (including the fact it has a sewer system). If I were a Seller in this community, you'd be the first person I'd call to list my house. You market yourself and your communities very well!
Loreena - The homes are pretty large. Most of them are between 3600 to 3800 square feet. One of the many great features of Hopkinton and other towns in the area is the nice treed lots.
Lashawn - Thanks for your compliments on my marketing. I really take pride in giving my clients maximum exposure online. These local neighborhood profiles are fun because I have been in the business a long time (22 years) and know the area very well!
Hi Bill, You always do such professional presentations! Thank you for setting such a good example for me, and for your visits and comments on my blog!
Bill,
Your presentations are so good that I want to buy a home in EVERY community! (And...I don't even live in Mass!) You sure make it look like a wonderful place to live. GBU~

Hi Bill.... this sounds and looks like a special place to Live in your Area of Boston, I'm sure you sell many of these fine homes quickly with your Internet marketing.
Cheers, thanks for sharing Canterbury with us.
Hi Bill,
You've got some spectacular homes in your area, one unique development right after another. Looks like Dick the developer did a wonderful job in this project. It's nice to see all the special touches.
Bill, you do such a great job in marketing your entire area of MetroWest MA, you're a real pro!

Fred & Linda - Thanks for your compliments on my marketing....it is really appreciated! There are some really fine neighborhoods in Hopkinton and some of the other surrounding Metrowest Mass towns.
Ann - Thanks a bunch. I will check out and correct the map link:)
Bill - Dick Pockwinse has really built some incredible homes in Canterbury. The fact that you can be in a neighborhood like this and still only be a couple of minutes from the 495 has got to be a great benefit for the residents.
Erik Besides the awesome School system one the reasons many buyers end up in Hopkinton is because of the close proximity to major routes. Hopkinton is at the cross roads of New England with the Mass Pike and 495.
Bill These homes in Canterbury look wonderful and only 35 minutes from Boston! I'll keep it in min if any of my New Hampshire buyers are moving South. A very nice description of the homes, the builder and the community.
Another wonderful presentation of homes, Bill...and anything on water (ie part of Lake Maspenock) is always so attractive... What gorgeous homes in Canterbury in your wonderfully talked about town of Hopkinton Massachusetts!
Bill - you always do sucha thorough job of showing neighborhoods and homes in your area. Why would anyone call anyone else in your neck of the woods? Great photos that really give you a good feel for the homes and the area.
