Hopkinton Ridge is a decent size Hopkinton Massachusetts neighborhood consisting of 31 homes situated on the West side of Hopkinton off of Lumber Street. The Streets in Hopkinton Ridge include Glen Road and Whirty Circle.
The homes built in this Hopkinton subdivision were built by well known national home builder, Pulte Corporation. Pulte builds homes all over the US and has a fairly solid reputation for delivering a quality product.
Their home designs are well laid out for today's life style. Most of the home plans have dramatic two story entry ways and spacious adjoining kitchen and family rooms. The typical design will usually include a 1st floor study in addition to the standard formal living and dining rooms.
This neighborhood was built between 1998 and 1999. The homes range in size from 2600 square feet up to 3900 square feet, exclusive of finished basement space. The bulk of the homes, however, are in the 3500 square foot range.
Most of the homes have four bedroom, 2.5-3.5 baths and two car garages. There are a few homes that have three garage bays. Some of the home owners have also created additional living space by finishing their lower levels.
The majority of the lots are an acre in size although there are a few that are slightly larger.
The one defining characteristic of most of the Pulte neighborhoods in Massachusetts is the lack of variety in the housing styles.
While driving through Hopkinton Ridge you will notice that there are only about a half dozen different home plans. Many of the homes also have the same floor plan with just a slightly different exterior elevation.
If your looking for a highly customized home with a distinctly different look than your neighbors property, this is not the place.

One confusing aspect of the Hopkinton Ridge neighborhood is that it adjoins with the Hopkinton subdivision known as Wildwood Glen Estates. The neighborhoods are tied together via Glen Road and many people mistakenly believe they are one subdivision. There are no landmarks telling you otherwise.
If you look closely you will see that the Wildwood Glen neighborhood has a much greater variety in housing styles as there were multiple builders who developed the property.
At Hopkinton Ridge you can expect to purchase a home that will have good re-sale value as the floor plans will not go out of style. I have enjoyed marketing homes in this neighborhood as they have a broad appeal to a lot of folks.
As of January 2009 the homes have a market value in the range of high 500's up to the 700's depending on the size of the home, the lot and amenities.
Hopkinton Ridge has an excellent commuting location as the 495 exits are only about 1.5 miles down the road off of West Main Street. The 1st exit North on 495 is the Mass Pike. Boston is only about 35 minutes away!
If you have a family one of the considerations when selecting a community is usually the quality of education the town provides. You can be confident knowing the Hopkinton Mass Schools are highly rated and among the best in the area!

Hi Bill, Your post gives buyers a very good and honest analysis of the neighborhood of Hopkinton Ridge.
Shirley - Thanks! I try to give a real honest opinion about the neighborhoods I am writing about. Hopkinton Ridge has always been a solid investment. The floor plans and amenities are what people expect to find in a home today.
Hi Bill-I am new to AR and I came across your blog and as I was reading this blog. I thought how well thought out and well written it is. I love the pic of the home with the brick on the outside. They are both beautiful homes from the outside, but I too wouldn't want my home to be a cookie cutter image of my neighbors. I've subscribed to your blog so I look forward to reading more of your voice on AR. Have a blessed and happy day.
Sharon - Thank you very much..I really appreciate the compliment. Although Hopkinton Ridge does have many of the same exterior facades and floor plans they do have a good re-sale value. I know there are folks that will go for the more customized look as well. That's what makes having choices great. Thanks for commenting on Hopkinton Real Estate.
Sounds like a great place. Very good post; lots of detail and good writing. Cheers!
Thanks James I try to write an unbiased opinion of my thoughts about the various neighborhoods in the area. This Hopkinton neighborhood has a lot of appeal because of the lots, location, and excellent floor plan.
Happy Monday to you Bill. Hopkinton Ridge sounds like a very exclusive community with 31 homes. They must be very distinctive. Large homes, large yards, floor-plans and exterior styles that make each feel unique. It looks and feels very custom. We have a couple communities like that here in Sherwood. One them is called Sherwood View Estates - Also a beautiful community.
Very nice introduction to this community you serve.
Amber
Amber - Hopkinton Ridge is a very nice Hopkinton neighborhood. The homes don't usually take an extended period of time to sell because of the fact that the homes have many of the ingrediants that buyers are looking for. The location is also excellent.
Bill... Great presentation of Hopkinton Ride and the homes available there. Excellent!
A great neighborhood and a great honest presentation of it.
Monika - Thanks for your comments on Hopkinton Real Estate.
Chris - As a mortgage broker working in Hopkinton you have probably have done a loan for someone purchasing in Hopkinton Ridge? It is an excellent choice.
Nice presentation Bill awesome neighborhoods in NW IN where one road leads into another development without a sign change and so people think they are in the same subdivision, yet it's actually a different one all together:)
- question - are you getting more google juice because you mention the word google in your post?
just wondering?
Sincerely,
Grace
Grace thanks for commenting on Hopkinton Ridge. No I don't think mentioning Google helps:) If only it was that easy.
Bill - Great photos and presentation of houses in Hopkinton ! Looks like a great community. Pulte does have a good reputation too. Up in your area, are there still some neighborhoods where new construction is going on ?
Chris - Thanks. I enjoy writing these articles about Hopkinton neighborhoods. I actually grew up here and have lived in town my entire life. There is not much new construction anymore. Most of our development took place in the 90's-to the middle of 2005.
Hi Bill,
You do the best job in Metrowest, MA! The homes you showcase are always well presented and absolutely beautiful.
We've got a fair number of Pulte homes in our area too, most upscale production (tract) homes, although our lots rarely compare to yours.
Lynda thank you very much. I know that Pulte does have more of those track type developments in other parts of the country. We do not have the large scale subdivisions here in Mass like others do. Our land is really difficult to develop.
Well written and informative. Very nice Bill! Your description makes me want to pick and move there. I'll take two houses please...okay, you talked me into it...three. Why not??
excellent blog Bill. We have Pulte here in Houston and surrouding areas, but I've never seen them build homes like that. Very impressive.
Hi Bill: Great Localism post--lots of detail, very thorough description of this community. Question--Do you ever have any issues with the two neighborhoods with your appraisals? (The higher end home being comp'ed by the appraiser for the lower end homes). We have a similar situation here with one of our neighborhoods and as you know, getting them to change their numbers is like pulling teeth!
Cecily & Greg - Thanks for your comments on Hopkinton Real Estate. Hopkinton Ridge has always been a popular neighborhood.
Debe - There have not been any issues for any of the homes that I have marketed. Many of the homes in the two neighborhoods are actually not that different in terms of size, amenities, ect.
Bill - great info and such easy reading - made it easy to want to take a look at the area
Randall - Thank you very much. I appreciate the compliments.
Nice post, I guess it helps you get leads from folks searhing this community, great idea....Kelly
